Magic cards and chaos core: Allegories of disorientation in contemporary European life

‍Sindy’s fourth album Otherworld Atlas is the progression of a deeply curious and distinctly epic approach to music. The artist, alongside co-producer Hannes Ferm, elaborates on his genre bending sound with enchanting details and explosive thematic crossovers. In a wall of noise approach, nu metal drums, shoegaze melodies and trashy witch house drones synthesize in maximalist hyper pop compositions – experimental, yet harmonic tracks that manifest removed mental landscapes and reject all fixed forms of reality.

World-building in its essence, the album tiptoes through distant blissful planes, dead dystopian malls and blaring creature-filled carnivals manifested in pitch-shifted vocals and wordless melody. Like a character creation screen with too many variables, the album’s manic, yet magical 11 songs traverse complex themes through riddled motifs – fragmented, masterful and elaborate.
